Fancy brewing your own tribute to one of Britain's most famous pale ales? Our Timothy Taylor’s Landlord All Grain Recipe Kit is based on the recipe published in the latest edition of Graham Wheeler's Brew Your Own British Real Ales.

This recipe kit produces a classic British pale ale with a clean malt character, gentle bitterness and the distinctive floral and spicy hop character associated with traditional English ales.

At 4.2% ABV, it's designed to be a highly drinkable pint – the sort of beer that works just as well for a quiet evening at home as it does pulled through a hand-pull at the local pub.

• 4,25Kg Maris Otter
• 30g Black Malt

All grains are supplied crushed and ready for brewing.

Hops

• 30g Goldings
• 50g Styrian Goldings

Yeast

• 1 x Protafloc tablet – last 15 minutes of the boil

Additions

• 1 x packet Safale S-04 yeast

A Classic British All Grain Recipe

The combination of Maris Otter malt, Goldings and Styrian Goldings hops gives this Landlord tribute its traditional British character. The Maris Otter provides the familiar biscuity, slightly nutty malt foundation, while the Goldings and Styrian Goldings bring floral, earthy and lightly spicy hop notes.

The small addition of Black Malt helps contribute colour without turning the beer into a dark ale.

This is a great choice if you're looking for a traditional British all grain beer kit, particularly if you enjoy classic bitters and pale ales rather than modern heavily hopped beers.

And because you're brewing it yourself, you can enjoy the satisfaction of producing your own 23 litre batch of a Yorkshire-inspired classic.
