This is a richly coloured, full-flavoured English strong ale with plenty of malt character, generous hop support and a distinctive floral hop aroma. Expect a satisfying combination of sweet, biscuity malt, delicate fruit notes and Goldings hop character, finishing dry with a lingering bitterness.

A classic British ale, brewed at home

The recipe uses a traditional combination of Maris Otter pale malt, crystal malt and a touch of black malt, with Challenger hops providing the main bitterness and Goldings added towards the end of the boil for their floral character.
