Ekuanot T90 Hop Pellets US Hops

Ekuanot is a distinctive American hop known for its bold tropical fruit, citrus and herbal character. Originally released in 2014 under the name Equinox, it was developed by the Hop Breeding Company in Washington State and has become a popular choice for modern hop-forward beers.

Expect vibrant papaya, lime, melon and green apple, accompanied by hints of spice and fresh herbs. Ekuanot also has a characteristic green pepper note, giving it a slightly unusual edge compared with more straightforward fruity hops.

With its high alpha acid content, Ekuanot can be used for bittering, although it's particularly effective in late boil additions, whirlpool hopping and dry hopping. Its complex aroma makes it an interesting choice for American pale ales, IPAs, hazy beers and even modern wheat beers.

Hop Pairings

Ekuanot works particularly well alongside Citra, combining its lime and tropical fruit character with Citra's bright citrus and passionfruit notes. Mosaic is another excellent companion, adding berry, mango and further tropical complexity.

For something slightly different, try pairing Ekuanot with Motueka, bringing additional lime and fresh citrus character to a refreshing pale ale.

Ekuanot is also worth exploring in a single-hop pale ale, although its distinctive herbal and green pepper notes mean it's a variety best used with a little consideration, particularly when dry hopping.
