Cashmere is a versatile American dual-purpose hop, known for its distinctive combination of citrus, melon and tropical fruit aromas. Developed through the Washington State University breeding programme and released in 2013, it is a daughter of Cascade with Northern Brewer ancestry, bringing a softer, fruitier character to modern American brewing.

Expect refreshing lemon and lime, accompanied by ripe peach, honeydew melon and hints of pineapple and coconut. Gentle herbal notes, including lemongrass and thyme, add another layer of complexity without overpowering the fruit.

Cashmere is particularly effective in late boil additions, whirlpool hopping and dry hopping, where its delicate balance of citrus and tropical fruit can really shine. Its moderate alpha acid content also makes it suitable for bittering, providing a rounded bitterness when used earlier in the boil.

An excellent choice for American pale ales, hazy IPAs, session IPAs, wheat beers, saisons and modern lagers, Cashmere is a particularly appealing option for brewers looking for fruity hop character without relying entirely on the more familiar American varieties.
