The brewery describes it as a full-bodied dark porter, inspired by the old tales of wild cats roaming the Exmoor moors. At 6.5%, it is certainly a beer with a bit of muscle behind it, but there is plenty going on beneath the strength.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur 23 litre all grain recipe kit is based on the recipe published by Graham Wheeler in \u003cem\u003eBrew Your Own British Real Ales\u003c\/em\u003e. The combination of Maris Otter, crystal malt and chocolate malt builds the deep colour and rich malt character, while Challenger and Brewers Gold hops provide enough bitterness and hop character to keep the sweetness in check.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eExpect a dark mahogany-coloured porter with flavours of toffee, treacle, chocolate and mocha coffee, alongside dark fruity and slightly rum-like notes.
