The brewery became an important part of Edinburgh's brewing heritage and survived several changes of ownership, including a management buyout in 1987 that saved it from closure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe brewery eventually became part of Scottish \u0026amp; Newcastle and later Heineken.
